Plex Indoor Sports made an announcement yesterday stating that they have purchased the Iceland Irmo skating rink and are scheduled to open it in mid-September.
This is good news for those of us who live in the Lake Murray/Irmo area. If you’re not familiar with Plex Indoor Sports, take a minute to check out their facility in the Northeast right next to Sandhill.
But they’re not just buying the ice skating rink…Plex will be building a 25,000 square foot sports building adjoining the rink with construction beginning immediately. Opening of the sports building is targeted for Spring 2008.
